AI consultants for Irish businesses

Most Irish businesses don't need an AI strategy deck. They need two or three jobs taken off their team: drafting the same documents, sorting enquiries, pulling answers out of old files. WDI finds those jobs, builds the AI into the systems you already use, and gets it working. We build AI products ourselves, so we know what holds up in daily use and what doesn't.

WDI is an Irish AI consultancy that implements AI inside small and mid-sized businesses, with construction, the trades and builders' merchants as our lead sectors. We don't sell strategy decks. We find two or three jobs that eat your team's week, build AI into the email, files, CRM and accounts software you already use, and keep a person checking the output. We built our own AI product, Tender Copilot, for Irish contractors, so we know what works in practice.

    Who we work with

    • Small and mid-sized Irish firms that want AI doing real work, not a pilot that goes nowhere
    • Construction firms, contractors and specialist trades
    • Builders' merchants, wholesalers and distributors
    • B2B service firms

For large enterprise programmes, the big consultancies are a better fit. We're built for firms that need it done.

AI that connects to the systems you already use

Microsoft 365 and Outlook, Google Workspace, Xero and QuickBooks, your CRM, website forms and shared drives. Xero and QuickBooks have open APIs, so AI can read and update them. Sage 50 is desktop software, so we check what's possible on your setup first.

See how this fits with business automation and custom software.

    Proof: Tender Copilot

We built Tender Copilot, an AI tender writing tool for Irish construction firms. It drafts prequalification and tender answers from the firm's own project records, certificates and policies. Every answer is labelled, so the user can see which parts came from their documents and which are AI suggestions. The same approach works for any business that writes the same kind of document again and again.

    How an AI project runs

    1. 1. A working session to list where time goes and which jobs AI can safely help with.

    2. 2. One use case built properly, connected to your files and systems, with a person checking anything that goes out.

    3. 3. Measured in use: if it doesn't save time, we change it or stop.

    4. 4. Then the next job.

    What it costs

AI Quick Start: from €3,500 + VAT. A half-day session, one AI tool built into your process and live in two weeks, your team trained and 30 days of support.

Integrations between your systems: from €2,500 + VAT.

Admin automation sprint: from €5,000 + VAT.

Bigger builds get a fixed price after a short call. Firms with up to 50 staff may get half of eligible costs back through their Local Enterprise Office's Grow Digital Voucher, where the work qualifies.

Grants that can help pay for AI work

    • Enterprise Ireland's Access Advice: Digital Discovery covers up to 80% of an expert's cost, to a maximum of €5,000, to take the first or next step in AI.
    • The Local Enterprise Office Grow Digital Voucher covers 50% of eligible costs, from €500 to €5,000, for firms with 1 to 50 staff who've completed a Digital for Business project in the last two years. It covers off-the-shelf software, including AI systems, plus training and setup. Custom software isn't eligible.

Apply before you spend anything. We'll tell you on the first call which, if any, fits your project.

How to choose an AI consultant in Ireland

    1. Ask what they've built and shipped, not what they've advised on.
    2. Ask which of your systems it will connect to, by name.
    3. Ask who checks the AI's output, and how mistakes get caught.
    4. Ask how you'll know it's saving time, and what happens if it isn't.
    5. Ask who owns what's built, and whether you can walk away with it.

    What we won't do

Sell you a chatbot for the sake of it, or put AI anywhere a mistake would cost more than the time it saves.

    Frequently asked questions

What does an AI consultant do for a small business?

Finds the repeat work AI can help with, then builds and connects the tools so the team actually uses them.

Do we need our own AI model?

Almost never. Most jobs are done well by existing models connected to your own documents and systems.

    Will AI replace our staff?

The aim is to take repeat work off people so they spend their time on the work only they can do.

Can AI work with our existing software?

Yes. We connect it to the email, files, CRM or accounts package you already use.

    How do we start?

Book a call and bring the two or three jobs that eat most of your team's week.

What's the difference between an AI consultant and an AI agency?

A consultant tells you where AI fits. An agency builds it. We do both: we find the jobs, then build and run the tools.

How much does AI consultancy cost in Ireland?

Our AI Quick Start is from €3,500 + VAT, integrations from €2,500 + VAT and an admin automation sprint from €5,000 + VAT. Bigger builds get a fixed price after a short call, and we'll tell you if a grant can cover part of it.

Can we get a grant for AI?

Often, yes. Enterprise Ireland's Digital Discovery and the LEO Grow Digital Voucher can both help. Apply before you spend anything.

Is our data safe when we use AI?

We set it up so your documents stay in your own systems, use business accounts of AI services rather than consumer apps, and agree with you what the AI can and can't see. Read how we handle your data.

    Do you work across Ireland?

Yes. We work with firms all over Ireland, on calls and on site where needed.

Working in construction? See how AI is being used on Irish sites in our guide to AI in construction. If the job needs new software rather than AI, see our custom software development.
