Trade account portals for Irish suppliers and builders' merchants

A trade account portal is a private website where your account customers log in, see their own prices, place orders, check what they owe and download invoices and statements, without ringing or emailing your counter. WDI builds trade account portals for Irish builders' merchants, building suppliers, wholesalers and distributors, set up around your price lists, credit terms and way of trading, and linked to your accounts system.

    Who it's for

    • Builders' merchants and hardware suppliers whose contractors want to order and check stock outside opening hours.
    • Building product suppliers and manufacturers selling to trade customers on agreed price lists.
    • Wholesalers and distributors taking repeat orders from the same accounts every week.
    • Plant and tool hire firms whose customers want to book, extend and see their hire history.

    What your customers can do

    • Log in to their own account, with separate logins for the office, the QS and site staff, and an approval step if they want one.
    • See their own prices, discounts and price lists, never the public ones.
    • Order, reorder from past orders and request a quote for anything not listed.
    • Choose delivery to site or click and collect, with a PO number on each order.
    • See their balance, credit limit, invoices and statements, and pay on account.
    • Check stock and lead times before they order.

    What your team gets

    • Orders arrive complete, with the right codes and prices, instead of half-written emails and phone calls.
    • Fewer "what's my balance" and "can you resend that invoice" calls.
    • One place to manage price lists and customer terms.
    • A view for your sales reps to place and track orders for the customers they look after.

Built for you, not bolted onto a shop

Most B2B ordering tools are plugins added to an online shop, and they struggle with the way Irish trade suppliers actually work: different prices for every account, credit terms, PO numbers and site deliveries. WDI builds the portal around your trading rules first, then adds what your customers ask for once they're using it.

Linked to your accounts and shop

The portal can connect to the systems you already run, so prices, stock, customers and orders stay in step:

    • Accounts: Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage Accounting and Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central.
    • Online shop: if you already sell on WooCommerce or Shopify, the portal can work alongside it.
    • Other systems: CRM, delivery dockets and stock systems, checked case by case.

    How it works

    1. 1. Map how you trade. We go through your price lists, account types, credit terms and ordering habits with you.

    2. 2. Build and connect. We build the portal and connect it to your accounts system, then test it with a few of your customers.

    3. 3. Bring your customers on. We invite your existing account customers and help your team show them how it works.

    4. 4. Keep improving it. Changes and new features as your customers use it.

    Funding

Irish small businesses can get help with the cost of digital projects. The Local Enterprise Office Grow Digital Voucher covers up to €5,000, at 50% of the cost, for software and implementation. Check eligibility with your Local Enterprise Office before you apply.

    Frequently asked questions

A private, logged-in website for your account customers. They see their own prices, place and track orders, and check invoices, statements and balances, so your team spends less time on the phone and email.

Yes. Each account gets its own price list, discounts or price bands, and customers only ever see their own.

Yes. Orders can go on account within each customer's credit limit, with card payment as an option for cash customers.

We connect the portal to the accounts system you already use, such as Xero, QuickBooks Online, Sage Accounting or Business Central, so customers, prices, stock and orders don't have to be keyed in twice.

Sage 50 desktop has no online connection, so any sync has to run on a computer in your office that holds the company file, and it doesn't work over Sage's Remote Data Access. We look at your setup first and tell you straight whether it can work before anything is built.

No. The portal sits alongside your current website, and it can work with an existing WooCommerce or Shopify shop.

You choose. We can invite your existing account customers, and new customers can apply for a trade account through the portal for your team to approve.

Yes. Reps can log in, see the accounts they look after and place orders on their behalf.

Small businesses may be able to use the Local Enterprise Office Grow Digital Voucher, which covers up to €5,000 at 50% of the cost. Check eligibility with your Local Enterprise Office first.
